Glisten

Great Lakes Innovative Stewardship Through Education Network

Who We Are

The Calumet Cluster of GLISTEN is a collaborative effort by local colleges, universities and environmental community partners to engage students in direct-action efforts to preserve and restore the environmental health of the Lake Michigan watershed.

What We Do

The GLISTEN model focuses on the following primary goals:

  1. Provide individual undergraduate students (stewardship liaisons) with opportunities for science-based research projects developed with community partners to enhance their knowledge and skill preparation for conservation careers.
  2. Increase awareness of environmental efforts within the Northwest Indiana region.
  3. Enhance the capacity of community partners to preserve, steward, and restore natural systems within the Lake Michigan watershed.
