Campus selected for honor by readers of the Times of Northwest Indiana
Indiana University Northwest was recently named the 2021 Best College/University by the readers of the Times of Northwest Indiana. The honor was bestowed as part of the publication’s “Best of the Region” awards program, held annually to recognize businesses and institutions that make a difference in local communities.
"I am thrilled that IU Northwest earned the top spot in the 2021 Best College/University category. The recognition is made all the more special because IU Northwest was selected by our hometown community for this honor. We have always been proud to be IU in Northwest Indiana, instilling a love for learning, growth and discovery as ‘The Region’s University,’” said IU Northwest Chancellor Ken Iwama.
“It is evident through every vote cast that IU Northwest is delivering upon its commitment to providing the students of this region with a transformative educational experience that will prepare them for a lifetime of success. This honor further validates our campus’s role as an anchor institution for Northwest Indiana,” Iwama added.
Honorees were chosen by readers in an online voting process, which began February 27 and ended March 31. More than 21,000 registered users of nwi.com cast 437,915 votes in 176 categories.
