First-time college students will now have two ways to apply: using the Apply IU app or the Common App
Beginning Aug 1, students applying to Indiana University Northwest for the 2022-2023 academic year will have the ability to do so through Common App, an online college application platform that allows prospective students to submit a single application to multiple schools at the same time. Common App serves more than three million applicants, teachers, counselors, and advisors across all 50 United States and around the world each year.
With the addition of IU Northwest to Common App, high school graduates will now have two ways to apply for admission to the university:
- Common App. Recent high school graduates must select IU Northwest as one of the schools to send the application to for consideration.
- Apply IU app. Students must select IU Northwest as the IU campus they wish to apply to on the application.
According to Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Dorothy Frink, "Our goal is to make access to a college education for all students as easy as possible. Providing students with an additional path to admission will help increase our efforts toward educational equity for historically disadvantaged students."
In addition to accessing the online application system, by joining Common App, IU Northwest is helping to make additional tools and services available to students and those who support students through Common App, including a mobile app, financial aid and scholarship information, virtual mentors, online portfolios, and a vast library of counselor resources available in English and Spanish. Common App also offers 24/7/365 technical support to all applicants and recommenders using the system.
