Indiana University Northwest to host Veterans Week events

Resource fair, flag raising ceremony and panel to occur in the days before Veterans Day

Indiana University Northwest will be hosting several events during Vet Week 2023 before Veterans Day on Nov. 11, 2023.

IU Northwest is proud to assist veteran students, faculty and staff through its Office of Military and Veteran Services, which is in place to meet the needs of students who are veterans, service members or children and spouses of disabled veterans.

Tuesday, Nov. 7 • Veteran Resource Fair
Savannah Center • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Come join IU Northwest and several of its community partners at the Veteran Resource Fair. Both campus and community members are welcome to attend to learn more about information related to housing, employment, benefits and opportunities to build relationships within the military community.

Thursday, Nov. 9 • Flag raising and panel
Flagpole on Broadway; Bergland Auditorium • 10 a.m.

We will honor Veterans through the flag-raising ceremony presented by ROTC followed immediately by a panel presentation titled “Women in Service.” The flag-raising ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the flagpole on Broadway followed by the panel presentation in Bergland Auditorium.

Anyone from the campus and community is welcome to attend both events. The panel discussion, which includes IU Northwest students Britni Lee Stevens and Michelle Estrada, among others, will discuss the experiences and perspectives of women who have or are serving in the military. Light refreshments will be served after the panel.
