IU Northwest has adopted an updated math placement process. Math placement is determined through evaluation of the materials you provided to the University upon application (see below for STEP hold information). Once you are placed, you will find your math placement through ONE.IU in your Student Center. If you feel that your placement is not reflective of your current skill level, we encourage you to sign up for an in-person math placement test. Your academic advisor will discuss your placement level with you at your advising appointment.
Depending on the student's major, Biology and Chemistry placement tests may also be required. Students may not register for classes until they have completed the English Placement test. While required to take a math course, the Math Placement hold will not prevent students from taking other courses. These placement tests are only for students admitted to Indiana University Northwest.
Please Note: In order to begin the placement testing process, you must have created your IU Account. If you are having problems with creating your IU Account, please contact the IT Support Center at (219) 981-4357 or [[iunhelp]].
