You must be admitted to the university before you can register for classes. If you have not previously attended IU Northwest or any other IU campus, please contact the Office of Admissions for application materials and more information.
- Review the academic calendar to determine the appropriate time periods for registration.
- Review our policies on auditing a class, the pass/fail grade option, and satisfactory/failing grades.
- Meet with your academic advisor to discuss your schedule and degree requirements. Your advisor will help you obtain section authorizations, course approvals, and checklist (hold) clearance, if required.
Students can register using One.IU.
Your username and passphrase permits access to One.IU. If you forget your passphrase, you must visit the UITS-NW Support Center in Hawthorn Hall 108. A photo ID is required.
The Registration Agreement
When you register, the university reserves specific class spaces for you and commits resources to provide the instruction you have selected. On your part, you assume the responsibility for paying those course fees or for notifying the university if you decide not to attend class. The availability of courses is subject to change. A section may be canceled due to low enrollment or departmental staffing considerations. The department canceling a class will notify registered students and help them make alternative arrangements, if necessary. Registered students also will be notified if the meeting time of a course has changed since the student registered.
Your registration will not automatically be canceled for nonpayment of fees. You must either pay your fees or notify us by the first week of classes if you do not intend to return to and/or attend Indiana University Northwest for the term. Canceling your registration by the first week of classes releases your class spaces in time to be available to other students. If you decide to cancel your registration, log on to One.IU. Go to “Student Center” and select the Register & Drop/Add, select the term, and proceed to drop all classes. Students are encouraged to view your class schedule to verify that all classes were successfully dropped and to view your Bursar account to verify that the proper credit was processed.
