Service learning is designed to have the agency or community organization and/or projects as student learning environments where students engage in projects or activities, collaborations, problem-solving and/or management strategies that address the needs of the community. The students engage in reflective learning (discuss, analyze the experiences, the project, the agency and how interacts with community). Students learn to see the bigger picture. Think of it as a learning project addressing a local issue or concern. Students become active in engaging public issues. Classroom time is required.
