The Academy at IU Northwest is an interdisciplinary community of students and faculty who come together to address practical problems of regional concern over multiple semesters while fostering a deeper sense of belonging to the university. By participating in interdisciplinary symposia and cooperative projects, students will acquire transferable skills while developing networks within the business and non-profit community. These students will form connections to the campus and the community in ways that have been shown to increase the likelihood that they will graduate and be successful.
Students who become fellows of the Academy will receive financial support as they engage in regular seminars exploring a variety of intellectual topics with faculty and community leaders. They will also participate in research projects and peer mentoring.
If, as faculty or staff, you know any students who are intellectually curious, but sometimes struggle with completing their coursework and getting engaged in the life of our campus, then consider nominating them for membership in the Academy at IU Northwest.
