STARS Peer Mentoring Experience Program
STARS (Students Together Achieving & Reaching Success) is a Peer Mentoring Experience Program in the School of Business and Economics that currently serves first-year, first-generation students (Mentees) by providing them with purposeful connection opportunities, motivational encouragement, academic support and resources, and a comfortable environment for them to ask questions, seek guidance, and share their successes.
The Program also welcomes any beginning undergraduate student who reaches out for such assistance and peer support because they may have little to no support resources (or peer relationships) either on or outside of campus.
Additionally, the STARS Peer Mentoring Experience Program enhances the communication, leadership and managerial skills of the continuing (upper-level) business students who serve as the Mentors in the program. STARS Mentees also grow within the program and advance into Mentor status, as well.
Students in the STARS program also participate in campus and community projects, along with numerous growth opportunities that support their academic and social life in college.
Students interested in the STARS Program, should contact the director of student success, engagement & career development for more details and requirements of this unique Experience Program via email at hharmon@iun.edu or by phone at 219-980-6644.
