The Groups Scholars Program was created as a way to increase college attendance among first-generation, underrepresented students at Indiana University Northwest. The program provides academic, financial, and social support to help students attain a bachelor's degree at Indiana University Northwest.

Students who wish to attend Indiana University Northwest and become a Groups Scholar must fulfill the requirements and also be recommended by one of many recommenders throughout the state at various high schools or community agencies.
